Safety and Sportsmanship at FRB

FRB PROVIDES A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR PLAYERS OF ALL AGES
Safety and Sportsmanship are of paramount importance at FRB.

FIRST AID AND ONSITE AED
The FRB Complex is equipped with a full First Aid kit as well as an AED located in the Snack Shack. Each board member is trained to use the AED and to perform CPR in the event of an emergency.

CODES OF CONDUCT
FRB also has a Coaches Code of Conduct and a Parents Code of Conduct which we expect to be followed by all volunteer coaches and parent spectators. Failure to do so may result in ejection from the complex and/or expulsion from the league. We expect our coaches and our fans to behave in a manner that exemplifies and encourages sportsmanship. FRB's umpires are members of our community and oftentimes former players who are contributing their time and energy to ensure the program carries on a long tradition--please show them respect and courtesy at all times. Our children are always watching us -- how we react when things don't go our way matters as much or more than how we respectfully cheer them on in success.

COACH BACKGROUND CHECKS AND TRAINING
All coaches must have a current background check and abuse prevention training (update required every 2 years). All coaches must have also completed the Rutgers SAFETY Course (one time certification). Babe Ruth League also now requires all coaches to complete a one-time online certification. Additional information on these requirements can be found on the updated Coaches Information page of the website.

As part of FRB’s efforts to ensure the safety of all players we are requiring all HEAD coaches to complete a free, online concussion training course, Heads-Up Coaches. All assistant coaches are also encouraged to take this training. All coaches should read and review the Heads Up Protocol and Coaches Action Plan and NJ State Concussion Law for school sports. Although not specifically addressed in this act, youth athletic activities are encouraged to follow the guidance in the act. FRB is a smoke and pet free facility.
