FRB Ground Rules  

Spring Recreational Baseball:  (revision Spring 2019)

In the spring teams play baseball in the following divisions:

Bambinos (5-6 years old): The focus is on introducing and developing the core fundamental baseball skills.  The players will also begin to learn the various positions on the field and begin to play simulated games with coach pitch.

Rookies (7-8 years old):  Players are introduced to the rules of the game and begin playing games where player pitching and catching are introduced. The focus is on the development of hitting, throwing and catching skills.

Minors (9-10 Years old): Players play games with umpires, player pitching, and official scoring. Teams may also hold separate practice sessions during the week.

Majors (11-12 Years old): Players play games with umpires, player pitching, and official scoring. Teams may also hold separate practice sessions during the week.  Games are played on a 50-70 field.

Seniors (13-16 Years old): Players play games on a 60-90 field at Lenape Park.

The league uses National Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken playing Rules for the majority of rule interpretations. Local Rules take precedence where indicated.
